American Legion Post 20 is affiliated with the National Press Club. However, any veteran may join our post; you do not need to be a Press Club member. The National Press Club is the world's leading professional organization for journalists. Click here to visit the NPC website. The Press Club traces its history to 1908, and from the beginning, it has been a place where news happens. Early visitors included Charlie Chaplin and Andrew Carnegie. William Howard Taft became the first president to visit the club in 1910. Theodore Roosevelt stopped by to regale listeners with tales of hunting big game in Africa. Woodrow Wilson and Warren Harding also hung out at the Press Club. More recent visitors have included Charles deGaulle, Golda Meir, Indira Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and the Dalai Lama. Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter announced their presidential bids at the club. We welcome you to join that long history by joining Post 20.

Post 20 member Zack Baddorf is the Executive Director of Military Veterans in Journalism. MVJ seeks to get more military veterans involved in journalism. If you're looking to transition from the military, or if you're a military vet and a journalist in mid-career, MVJ is a great resource. Click here to visit the MVJ website.
